Path of Miracles, for a cappella choir, was commissioned by Tenebrae from Joby Talbot and premiered last year. The work is based on the most enduring route of Catholic pilgrimage - the great Pilgramage to Santiago. The four movements of Path of Miracles are titled with the names of the four main staging posts of the 'Camino Frances':

I Roncesvalles

II Burgos

III Leon

IV Santiago

The 'Camino Frances' s the central axis of a network of pilgrimage routes to Santiago. Talbot's music has been performed by, amongst others, the London Sinfonietta, The BBC Symphony Orchestra, The Brunel Ensemble, Evelyn Glennie and The Duke Quartet. In addtion, Talbot also writes for the big and small screen. Credits include, The League of Gentlemen and The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Een interessante muzikale pelgrimstocht naar Santiago
Path of Miracles voor a capellakoor, werd door Tenebrae besteld bij Jody Talbot en ging in 2005 in première. Het werk is gebaseerd op de best in stand gehouden route van de Katholieke pelgrims – de grote Pelgrimstocht naar Santiago de Compostela. De vier delen van Path of Miracles zijn vernoemd naar de vier belangrijkste halteplaatsen van de ‘Camino Frances’, de centrale as van een netwerk van pelgrimsroutes naar Santiago: Roncesvalles, Burgos, Leon en Santiago.

Net als veel andere pelgrimstochten eindigt Path of Miracles niet in Santiago. De reis naar Finisterre, waar de muren van de hemel volgens de tekst zo dun zijn als gordijnen, heeft het karakter van een epiloog, een goedaardige kater van het feest in Santiago. Hier zingt de pelgrim nog één keer zijn hymne, die over de horizon verdwijnt.

Tenebrae, opgericht en geleid door Nigel Short, voormalig lid van The King’s Singers, is een professioneel vocaal ensemble, met als motto ‘passie en precisie’.
